BANGKOK : The Travel + Leisure magazine has voted Bangkok as the “Top City”. The city officials are grateful for name them at the top in spite of the riots that happened recently.

In a news conference, Sukhumbhand Paribatra, Bangkok Gov., told the reporters that this award gives them encouragement to better at their capabilities. It was a nightmare to see all the tourists vacating the country because of the hazardous accidents.

“What we have in our hands is very precious,” said Sukhumbhand.

“We must prevent troubles and any more losses from happening in our beloved city. We should not damage it any further.”

On Sunday, a grenade explosion took place and killed one, wounded 10. The authorities refuse to accept that it was a political strategy.

The Travel + Leisure magazine has rated Bangkok as its top position in its August issue. A poll was taken to reach to the conclusion of the list. Voters were asked to name their favorite cities, islands, hotels and airlines. The participation came from nearly 16,000.

The poll ended before the riots and that may be a reason that the polls were unaffected.
