The law makers of Spain on Wednesday have declared a bullfighting ban in Catalonia because of the vileness of this bloody sport that has been there in their culture from many centuries.

It is for the first time that a voice is being raised against this sport in the main area of Spain. Bullfighting stands as a great threat to the welfare of the animals who are initiated into this sport.

The Catalonian parliament conducted a preliminary voting session in December after acknowledging a request from the citizens to disrupt the cruelty being done to innocent animals for a mere sport.

The results stood something like 68 who stood in favor while 55 were against the decision. There were also 9 restraints in this regard.

Lawmakers presented by point of view backing on the declining popularity of this sport wherein lesser number of people attended this sport to watch furious animals against swords and capes.

Jose Rull, a parliament member of CIU or Catalonian nationalist party said proving his point in the debate, “There are some traditions that can’t remain frozen in time as society changes. We don’t have to ban everything, but the most degrading things should be banned”
