Air traffic controllers
In a shocking incident of sexual discrimination at work two women working as air traffic controllers have charged Air Services Australia with serious charges, taking them to court for the discrimination.
The victims Kirsty Fletcher and Jacki MacDonald reported that the so called responsible managers refused to help them who were subjected to constant bullying and harassment campaigns. The ladies have now taken them to Victorian Federal Court.
In pregnant condition these victim were abused and belittled by the management of the services and also denied any kind of training while exposing them to pornography at office.
Ms MacDonald claimed that when her pleas were not taken seriously by the management she decided to do it the legal way.
“I think I have earned the right to be respected in my career,” she said.
“As any woman who works in a male-dominated environment knows, it’s hard.
“But in this day and age, in 2010, I think you should be allowed to work freely and your job should be based on performance.”
The victim hopes that the legal action might change hostile attitude against females.
“I did not want any young women at age 18 or 19 to come into this work environment in 2010, or any future years, and have to suffer what I have suffered for 18 years,” she said.
“Enough is enough. I want the work culture changed in this workplace.”
After the incident came to lime light Air Services Australia claimed the incident will be taken seriously and legal advice will be sought.
