When a plane which started from Dulles International Airport near Washington, D.C scheduled to Los Angeles was severely hit by turbulence when it was flying over Kansas, it was then diverted to Denver on which 30 people were left injured with one in critical state, as reported by Federal Aviation Administration.

The United Airlines jetliner was safely landed on the Denver International Airport at 7.45p.m and was instantly assisted with medical help as claimed by Eric Tade, representing Denver Fire Department.

According to Ian Gregor the FAA spokesman, Los Angeles, in the incident 26 passengers travelling were injured along with four from the crew. And one of the passengers was critically hurt.

Tade informed the The Denver Post, “There are mostly walking injuries.” He further added that the injuries included sprains, whiplash, strains and bruises.

Mike Fergus the FAA spokesman, Seattle said that there were 255 passengers with 10 crew members in the flight 967 when the incident took place at Kansas about an altitude of 34,000 feet when the plane was hit by heavy turbulence suddenly.
According to a passenger Kaoma Bechaz, 19 who was visiting her boyfriend in US, the turbulence experienced was “just a huge up and down.”

Megan McCarthy, the spokeswoman for united airlines informed that the landing at Denver was a decision in favor of the passengers which the crew took to make sure that the injuries were not fatal and immediate medical help could be provided to the passengers.

Michael Trevino, airline spokesman later informed the post that many passengers from the flight which was diverted were later helped with a special flight which was scheduled for Los Angeles at 9:30 p.m.
