This Thursday, another chuckwagon horse was put to death after it fell during a race at the Calgary Stampede this year.
Its not a very new thing for thing for their riders. Similarly, another two were also obliterated in the same manner after they suffered heart attacks. One hurt their back in the Saddle bronc event. Another was put down after suffering in injury in the Chuckwagon races. The list would not end anywhere it seems. Lastly, one died of an unknown cause.
“To lose six horses in one year is very unusual. It’s also very upsetting,” said Stampede spokesman Doug Fraser.
“Each of the six deaths is the result of distinct circumstances. And we want to point out that none of the deaths are the result of an on-track accident, human error or negligence.”
They have also tried to eliminate a few rounds like calf-roping from the stampede, but all in vain. They strongly objurgate harming animals for human entertainment. Such sadistic measures need powerful objections.
