Inception Movie
Inception is one of the most hyped movies of this year with actor Leonardo DiCaprio in the lead. Coming from Christopher Nolan, director of ‘The Dark Knight’, it has kept under wraps from the day it was announced in 2009 arousing the curiosity of the viewers even more.
You may or may not have still gone for this movie. But there are several interesting facts you would want to know about Inception, the top five of which are given below:
Inception is a total director’s baby: Several movies have been already made on this subject before. We have earlier heard of mind readers but mind-stealers, this is truly a novel idea of none other than Nolan.
“There are times in my life where I experienced lucid dreaming, which is a big feature of Inception,†said Nolan to E! News while talking about the movie. “The idea of realizing you’re in a dream and…trying to manipulate it in some way. That’s a very striking experience.â€
Actors had to put in a lot of mind before shooting a scene: a scene that is specially making news is where Joseph Gordon-Levitt(as point-man Arthur) is involved in a brawl with some ruffians while climbing one wall to another. A 100-foot-long padded corridor that could be moved a full circle six times every minute had to be specially constructed for this one scene.
“I couldn’t think of the floor being the floor and the ceiling being the ceiling,†said Gordon-Levitt. “I had to think, ‘This is the ground…Now this is the ground…and now, this is the ground.’ That was the mind game I had to play to make it work.â€
CGI animation alone does not work for this team: Nolan is very specific not to go for Computer-generated-imagery alone. “However sophisticated animation is, the audience can always tell the difference between something that has been photographed and something that has been animated,†Christopher Nolan said.
Even in scenes where graphics have to be necessarily used, Nolan makes it a point to capture something on the camera and then to develop it using animations.
Leonardo DiCaprio is a complete contrast from Cobb:Â As per his own declarations, Cobb and DiCaprio have not much in common.
“I’m not a big dreamer,†he said. “I never have been. I remember fragments of my dreams.â€
So, how did he prepare himself for such a role? “I was able to sit down with Chris for two months every other day and talk about the structure of this dream world, and the rules that apply in it.â€
Inception is anything but funny: There are always two sides to a coin. Likewise, dreams can be serious or funny. But Nolan has kept himself away from the humorous side. “One of the things we talked about, tonally, is never tipping over into comedy, this funny version,†he explained. “And certainly I think there’s a great comedy version of this movie somewhere, but I don’t want to make it.â€
Maybe, someone else will give it a thought. And we will be engrossed once more…
