MELBOURNEÂ — Australian television star, actress, and singer Dannii Minogue gave birth to a healthy baby boy in Melbourne on Monday, the Herald Sun newspaper reported on Wednesday.
It is the first child of Minogue, 38, and her partner Kris Smith, 31.
In an interview earlier this year, Minogue said she had never thought about starting a family until she met Smith, who is a former rugby player from Britain. “I was always like, I’m not going to have kids, but now I say to Kris, ‘What if I really start enjoying this and want to have more’?” Minogue told a magazine in April.
“He’s soft, kind, gentle, manly, and looks after me. He’s wanted us to have a baby from the very, very beginning and just loves it.”
Dannii’s sister, the famous Kylie Minogue, will head to Australia later this month to meet the newest addition to her family.
Dannii gained fame in the 1980s for her roles in the Australian talent show ‘Young talent Time’ and the soap opera ‘Home and Away.’ She then embarked on a career as a pop singer in the early 1990s, scoring hits such as “Love and Kisses” and “This is It.”
