MEXICO CITY (BNO NEWS) — At least two explosions on early Friday rocked Ciudad Victoria, the capital of Tamaulipas state, in what appears to be an attack on a television station and the municipal police headquarters, reports said.

The explosions were reported around 12:15 a.m. local time (01:15 a.m. EST) outside the municipal police headquarters and Televisa del Golfo, the local TV station of Mexico’s largest television network Televisa, according to El Norte newspaper.

Witnesses said transmission towers were damaged by one of the blasts and channel signals were cut off. Electricity service was also affected in the neighborhood surrounding the facility.

There were no initial reports of casualties after the blasts.
