LOS ANGELES — Actor Leonardo DiCaprio’s alleged attacker, a woman who is accused of slashing the actor’s face, pleaded not guilty on Wednesday.
TMZ reported that Aretha Wilson, 40, who was charged with assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly slashing DiCaprio’s face five years ago, was arraigned in court on Wednesday, pleading not guilty.
In 2005, Wilson allegedly attacked the actor with a drinking glass at a Hollywood party. The cut required 17 stitches.
Wilson was initially facing a bail of $60,000 dollars, but she had to be extradited to the U.S. after fleeing to Canada shortly after the incident. She has been in custody ever since, held on on $150,000 bail, which was increased to that amount last week.
If convicted, Wilson will be facing a maximum prison term of four years. Her next court date is August 23.
